THE CHANGES HISTORY OF CATFISH STATUE INTO THE CLOCK IN BEKASI



Each town has their own characteristic like a statue as city icon. City icon useful to indicate the city where there is a history of the icon or the meaning implied therein. Previously, Bekasi has a city icon is a Catfish Statue and Lute Pieces Statue. Catfish Statue and Lute Pieces Statue was built in 1995 and in Regent tenure Moch. Djamhari. He ordered that because he thought catfish an lute pieces are produce and grown in Bekasi. Apparently the good wishes of Regents was not necessarily good for the people. Most Bekasi people felt catfish statue and lute pieces statue did not reflect Bekasi. According to their catfish is not a good icon because catfish is a voracious beast and the price is cheap. Lute pieces also including in cheap’s price. The point was its did not reflect Bekasi. So Bekasi people did not agree with these icon and sent their protest to Moch. Djamhari, Regent of Bekasi but not addressed. Eventually protest addressed to Mr. Nonon Sonthani, Mayor of Bekasi.

Finally, released letter dated February 25th, 2001 which contained a decision that catfish statue and lute pieces statue dismantled. Although existing demolition orders, the statue was not too disturbing dismantled. One of the people named Damin Sada and while it still existed as a village chief Sri Jaya, Tambun district, has others ideas. On April 24th, 2002, Damin Sada came the Catfish Statue and burnt it. Now catfish statue has turned into a large clock and a large buffer specifically for advertising space.

HISTORY OF DAENDELS ROAD IN BEKASI

Daendels road also known as Jalan Raya Pos (De Grote Postweg) is the road which connect anyer to panarukan. It has length more than1000 kilometers and built was 1808 in north JavaIn each 4,5 km established a post as a stopping place and connector of letter transmission. The road was built during the occupation of General Herman Willem Daendels. this road construction is a monumental project Daendels, but must be paid to the manyviolations of human rights because it is done by force without compentation or forced labor. thousands of Indonesia people died in forced labor.

One of the lines is made’ ​​Daendels Pantura. This track has a length of 1316 km between Merak to Ketapang. HISTORY OF THE NAME JAKARTA

European writers in the 16th century mention is the forerunner of the city which is a port of Bandar Kalapa Hindu Sundanese kingdom with a capital of Padjadjaran. But on June 22, 1527, when King Fatahillah became ruler to rename Sunda Kalapa be Jayakarta and corresponding Decree No.6/D/K/1956, then set that date as the anniversary of the city.

Jakarta following the name change history :
  • Initially, in the 14th century named Jakarta port of Sunda Kelapa as the Kingdom of Padjadjaran. 
  • Fatahilah rename Sunda Kelapa to Jayakarta on June 22, 1527
  • March 4, 1621 by the Dutch VOC Batavia Stad use the name for the form of city government.
  • April 1, 1905 changed its name to Batavia Stad Gemeente Batavia.
  • January 8, 1935 changed its name Gemeente Batavia Stad Gemeente Batavia.
  • August 8, 1942 when the Japanese occupation change Betsu Shop Batavia to Jakarta Shi.
  • September 1945 Jakarta government named the National Government of Jakarta.
  • February 20, 1950 during the Pre Federal Government changed its name back to Batavia Stad Gemeente.
  • March 24, 1950 was changed to Municipal Jakarta. 
  • January 18, 1958 in Jakarta standing as an autonomous region called Municipal Djakarta Raya.
  • 1961 with the PP No. 2 jo UU 1961. 2 PNPS 1961 formed government of Jakarta Raya.
  • August 31, 1964 by UU no. 10 1964 declared Raya Jakarta Special Capital Region remained as the capital of the Republic of Indonesia as Jakarta.
